How accurate is the receipt scanner?
Good on clear receipts, imperfect on crumpled ones, and you check the result before it becomes an expense.
On a flat, readable receipt in decent light, recognition of the total and the line items is reliable. On a crumpled thermal receipt photographed at an angle it is noticeably less so.
Three things keep this honest:
- The result screen tells you how sure it is and asks you to verify the numbers before saving. The confidence figure sits right under the category breakdown.
- Nothing becomes an expense until you add it. Before you tap Add to Expenses you can correct the total and the currency, change the category of any item and leave an item out. The price of a single line cannot be edited, so a wrong price is fixed through the total.
- Categories are a suggestion. Items are sorted automatically, the way a bank categorises transactions, and you can recategorise anything in a tap. Subscrr remembers your corrections for similar lines later.
